With July fast approaching, there’s a good chance that you’ve already broken up from school for summer, or that you haven’t got much longer to go. So, it’s time to start counting down the days before you can do everything you’ve been planning for the past year. To make things even better, here at b**p we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 things to do this summer. So, let’s get started.

1. Escape Rooms – If you enjoy solving puzzles and putting your brain to work (which, to be fair, you may not after finishing all of your exams, but believe us, it’s worth it) then this is a great activity to get involved in. All you need to do is get a team of at least two people together and book online. It’s great fun for everyone, whether you decide to team up with your family or a group of friends. However, it is slightly on the more expensive side, generally costing approximately £60-70 for a group of more than two people, so the more that get involved, the cheaper it will be for each of you. So, while it may just be a one-off activity, it’s certainly worth spending that little bit extra for a great experience, and one that you are unlikely to forget!

2. Lane 7 – There’s no doubt that everyone loves bowling, but Lane 7 is that little bit different, and it’s great! Not only can you have fun knocking down 10 pins, but you can also enjoy a game of table tennis, snooker, or even have a bite to eat, and finish it all off with a tasty drink from the bar. It’s all in one place, and the atmosphere makes it even better. Again, this one is slightly on the pricier side, but if you’re only wanting to experience one or two activities then it’s not too costly, and it’s reasonable considering it’s right in the heart of Newcastle.

3. Gravity Force, Trampolining – This one is for the big kids; a great way to have fun, whilst also getting plenty of exercise. Consisting of over 60 interconnected trampolines, as well as a huge foam pit, there are endless opportunities for fun.

4, Centre for Life – With different events running throughout the year, this is somewhere you can never get bored of. This is not only great for educational purposes, but can also be a lot of fun and often very interesting too!

5 . Jesmond Dene – Hopefully this summer will be kind to us and treat us with some well-deserved sun, so spending some time outside could be a real delight. Jesmond Dene is particularly picturesque, and the views will make a great Instagram picture! You could even grab an afternoon tea at Jesmond Dene House and make your visit even more luxurious.

6. The Great British Cupcakery – This is a great place to visit if you’re a real foodie, and it will certainly get your taste buds tingling. It is also the home of amazing milkshakes, overflowing with a multitude of sweet goodies. What more could you want?

7. Beamish Museum – Another great educational opportunity is a visit to Beamish – an open air museum telling the story of life in the North East during the 20th century. As well as learning about the interesting history of the local area, you can also purchase some delicious goodies from the sweet shop and have a look into some of the unique shops that it has to offer. It truly is a great experience.

8. Adventure Valley – This is suited slightly more for younger readers, but it’s still a great day out for the family. You can visit the animals in the farm, and then have a game of crazy golf, or even explore the soft play. It’s certainly an adventure! Situated both indoors and outdoors, you don’t have to worry about the weather, either!

9. Souter Lighthouse – Opened in 1871, Souter remains an iconic beacon, surrounded by a huge stretch of limestone cliffs and fantastic views. You can enjoy a stroll along the coastline, whilst also learning about its history.

10. Go Ape – This is another activity that satisfies everyone’s preferences, enabling you to have fun on the high ropes and zip wires whilst also enjoying the breathtaking views of the countryside. It’s always worth going outside of your comfort zone, and this will do just that.

So there you go! Plenty of activities that will certainly make your summer that little bit more exciting, and hopefully satisfy every preference! What are you waiting for?
