Titled Plains of Eidolon, Warframe’s next big update will take the fight to a more traditional MMO style of gameplay. Similar to the way Guild Wars did its questing, you will have free-roam of a totally open map, with numerous quest givers and creatures to interact with and maim in your preferred style.
It looks incredible. The crowd reaction was pretty neat too.
This is really cool, and will definitely help break up the gameplay a bit better than just the standard ‘do a mission, go to your ship’. I’m looking forward to this immensely. Warframe is the kind of game you can’t really review. It’s constantly changing, with a community surrounding it that is probably one of the best I’ve seen in recent memory.

It will support up to 50 players per lobby on the Plains and includes a brand-new weapon crafting system, new shaders, water effects, a day-night cycle and some rather large looking monsters.
The mode will be coming in 2017, though no actual date was announced.
Might be time to power level my Excalibur frame once again…
