A New Metro Game?

See, it’s not all bad!

In case you didn’t read it, in our Top 5 FPS Games, we mentioned a little franchise called Metro – a game series that revolves around the books by Dmitry Glukhovsky, depicting a dark, and twisted future in the metro systems of Moscow, after nuclear war.

The Redux versions of both games are fantastic, adding graphical and mechanical changes by the bucketload. While they may be very linear, they are definitely among the best shooters out there.

But it seems that, according to a website for the game, there is another journey awaiting us in the dark tunnels underground.

The last game in the series to come out was Metro: Last Light in 2011, which received rather good scores all around. The Redux was then released in 2015, and merged storytelling, shooting, stealth, and solid gunplay into one game. The webpage reads:

“It all adds up to something. Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up. An era of great discoveries lies ahead.”

We look forward to anything these guys bring out. With source material as strong as this, what more could you want?

Hopefully, we’ll be given some details on the release date, and possibly what the plot would entail, whether we’ll be continuing with Artyom’s tale, or be looking at another dwellers story…
