For the sake of both the US and Asia, it is vital that Donald Trump’s Asian Tour is a success. The growing threat of a North Korean attack and Russian interference means that the US President needs to do all he can to form allegiances and strengthen bonds between the likes of South Korea, China and Vietnam if he wants to avoid a major world crisis.

So far, his tour is going well. Trump is being treated like a King everywhere he goes and receiving great praise from powerful Asian leaders. He started his tour off in Tokyo, Japan with a visit to the US servicemen and women at Yokota Air Base.

Later he played to his strengths by engaging in a game of golf with the Japanese Prime Minister.

His next country to visit was South Korea and it was inevitable that the topic of North Korea was going to be discussed in great depth. One can only assume that “We will figure it all out” refers to Kim Jong-Un and North Korean aggression.

He delivered a speech in South Korea, making it clear that he “will not allow American cities to be threatened with destruction”.

Then came this edit of his South Korea speech, complete with overly dramatic music, that sounds like a trailer for a war movie.

Seemingly forgetting he once said that climate change was a hoax orchestrated by the Chinese, he headed to China and received a royal welcome and tour of the Forbidden City.

In Beijing, he was greeted by crowds of excited children and an army display.

Another movie-style edit. This time, the tone was more uplifting than menacing.

During his trip, he tweeted: “I don’t blame China, I blame the incompetence of past Admins for allowing China to take advantage of the U.S. on trade leading up to a point where the U.S. is losing $100’s of billions. How can you blame China for taking advantage of people that had no clue? I would’ve done same! My meetings with President Xi Jinping were very productive on both trade and the subject of North Korea. He is a highly respected and powerful representative of his people. It was great being with him and Madame Peng Liyuan!”

His effort with President Xi clearly paid off, as China has now stated it wants to disarm North Korea.

A few hours later, he tweeted: “Met with President Putin of Russia who was at #APEC meetings. Good discussions on Syria. Hope for his help to solve, along with China the dangerous North Korea crisis. Progress being made. When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing? There always playing politics – bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help! Does the Fake News Media remember when Crooked Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, was begging Russia to be our friend with the misspelt reset button? Obama tried also, but he had zero chemistry with Putin.”

After a week of unusually tame tweeting from the President, he went and dropped the ‘mother of all’ mean tweets:

The whole situation is beginning to feel like two angry 5-year-olds, throwing petty and unintelligent insults back and forth. A few hours later, Trump resumed his Asian tour tweeting with some pictures of his welcome in Vietnam and meeting with President Tran Dai Quang.

He is currently in the Philippines and will most likely be tweeting about his meetings and musings soon. Let’s just hope Kim Jong-Un doesn’t mind being called short and fat…
