Ben Affleck has officially confirmed he will be directing the standalone Batman film, and that the script is still in progress. There had been a few rumours that the film’s production had been pushed back, and that Ben Affleck might not even direct, but he has stated he is definitely going to helm the movie.

This information comes from a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Ben Affleck went on to promote his new movie Live By Night. Affleck said:

“I’m going to direct the next Batman. We’re working on it. It’s one of those things that’s really frustrating because Live by Night took me a year and a half to write it and get it ready. And I worked really hard. It’s just nobody gave a s**t! Nobody was like, ‘Where’s Live by Night? But with Batman I keep on getting, ‘Where’s the b**ping Batman?!’ And I’m like, ‘Whoa, I’m working! Give me a second!'”

There has been speculation that this film would be out in 2017, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Affleck also commented on the recent Justice League photo that was released, which shows him alongside Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman and the Flash. With Kimmel joking about his muscular appearance, Batfleck responded, “I make that look pretty good!”

And he certainly does.

Hopefully, the solo Batman film will be good, and given the fact that Ben Affleck’s performance was the only thing that made BvS watchable, we won’t have to hope too much.
