It’s been a while since our last dive into the Alienverse. The last (sort of) run-in we had with anything Alien-esque was Prometheus. Which we do not talk about.

But a few months ago it was revealed there would be a new Alien movie at some point, and it looks like we’re adding another film to the 2017 roster. The movie will be out in May, which is three months earlier than the initial announcement. This isn’t the first time the date has been changed, however. Originally, it was supposed to come out in October, then in August, and now it’s less than 7 months away.

Alien: Covenant will be directed by the original film’s director, Ridley Scott. The film will star Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir and Danny McBride.

Fassbender announced he would play two roles earlier this month. He would be reprising his role as David, the android from Prometheus, and a newer version of the android named Walter.

“I think what’s great about it is that Ridley has gone back to the original DNA of Alien, the horror element of that.

“But it also has the scope and the scale of Prometheus. Ridley has cut it already. He is a machine. He is an incredible human being, and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure.”

The movie’s poster gives off a very original Alien vibe. The dark greenish hue, along with the simple caption ‘Run’.

If we’re going back to the original Alien for inspiration, I have but one thing to say:
