With just under three weeks left before the UK decides whether it will be Corbyn or May to take us out of the EU, each of the leaders of the seven main UK parties will be on our TV screens more or less every day to tell you why they deserve your vote. You probably have heard that Theresa May will not face Jeremy Corbyn in a televised debate but that doesn’t mean that we won’t be hearing from them separately quite a bit over the last leg of this campaigning season. Here are all of the TV programmes regarding the GE that will be happening very shortly:

Monday 22nd May, 7pm, BBC1 – Andrew Neil interviews Conservative leader Theresa May

Tuesday 23rd May, 7pm, BBC1 – Andrew Neil interviews UKIP leader Paul Nuttall

Wednesday 24th May, 7pm, BBC1 – Andrew Neil interviews Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron

Thursday 25th May, 7pm, BBC1 – Andrew Neil interviews SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon

Friday 26th May, 7pm, BBC1 – Andrew Neil interviews Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn

Monday 29th May, 8.30pm, Sky News and Channel 4 – May vs Corbyn.

Don’t build your hopes up for this one – the “vs” is very misleading. Despite Jez asking Theresa May on multiple occasions to debate him, she has turned down his offers. The format of this programme will be both May and Corbyn interviewed separately in the presence of a live studio audience who will be posing questions to the two leaders. The interviewer will be Jeremy Paxman who is one of the toughest and most well-known political interviewers.

Wednesday 31st May, 7.30pm, BBC1- The BBC Election Debate

This will take the form of a seven-way debate with spokespeople from each party – the actual leaders don’t have to show up as long as they send a senior figure from the party. Leanne Wood, Nicola Sturgeon, Paul Nuttall and Tim Farron are predicted to be there but it’s likely that Caroline Lucas, Jeremy Corbyn and Theresa May will be sending other members of their party to represent them. Mishal Husain will be presenting and moderating the debate.

Friday 2nd June, (time not yet announced), BBC1 –Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn BBC Question Time special

Once again, the public are deprived of the Corbyn vs May debate that we all want and need in order to make a confident decision on the 8th of June. This programme will also take the format of Corbyn and May being questioned by a studio audience separately.

Sunday 4th June, 10.30pm, BBC1 – Paul Nuttall BBC Question Time special (11pm BBC1 Wales)

Sunday 4th June, 11pm, BBC1 – Leanne Wood BBC Question Time special (10.30pm BBC1 Wales)

Tuesday 6th June, 8.30pm, BBC News Channel, 10.40pm BBC1 – BBC Newsbeat Youth Debate

Politicians from each of the seven main parties will face an audience made up of 18-34-year-olds in a very tenuous use of the word “youth” debate. Given the voting habits of this demographic, it’s probably safe to say that the Conservative and UKIP politicians will have some challenging questions put their way.
