Yep, it’s in the title. Possibly the best Assassin’s Creed game to date, Black Flag, is now free for a limited time on Uplay. This is to promote the series’ tenth anniversary as a whole.

From now until December 18th you can snag a copy of the swashbuckling, stabby-stabby simulator through Ubisoft’s game service. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was a fan favourite, featuring one of the only likeable characters in the entire series aside from Ezio.

You are cast in the role of Edward, a pirate who accidentally kills a Templar, donning his clothes and hidden blades. You are then thrust into a relatively open world experience, packed full of side activities, boat combat, exploration and stabbing things. The expanded boat combat from the third game is enough to warrant at least a few hours of your time.

Ubisoft put out DLC for the game too, called Freedom Cry which explores the game’s side character Adewale. PlayStation Plus subscribers may have already downloaded the add-on, as it was free a few months ago. The add-on is approximately £11 on Steam or Uplay.

Go get it!
