Ban on Legal Highs

Days after Newcastle was branded the epicentre of legal highs by the Independent, a ban has been placed on psychoactive substances.
As of today, May 26 2016, a new law has been enforced on what were once legal highs.
The new law could see you with a seven year jail sentence under the Psychoactive Substances Act. However for those who are already serving a sentence and are caught with the contraband in prison, another two years will be added to the original sentence.
Police will have the authority to search people, premises and vehicles, shut down any shops which supply these items and seize and destroy any psychoactive substances which they find.
Who knows what difference this will make?
