We’re compiling a few master lists of great book suggestions. Check out our other book lists, the ‘Best of’: Book Series and the ‘Best of’: Books for Kids aged 10-14. Next on our list came perhaps the trickiest of age brackets, books for ages 14-18. The amount of life experience, maturity and even literacy within this age bracket varies so significantly, but we’ve tried to include something for everyone.

Let us know what we’ve missed, and be sure to tell us what you think if you have a read of anything from the list!

10) ‘A Gathering Light’ by Jennifer Donnelly

9) ‘Boy Meets Boy’ by David Levithan

8) ‘Dear Nobody’ by Berlie Doherty

7) ‘Lord of the Flies’ by William Golding

6) ‘Catcher in the Rye’ by J D Salinger

5) ‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ by Arthur Conan Doyle

4) ‘The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾’ by Sue Townsend

3) ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time’ by Mark Haddon
