Boy with vitiligo meets dog with the same condition

I think we could all do with some good news this week. And here it is.

An eight-year-old boy with vitiligo has met a dog suffering from the same condition after being embarrassed by it since he received the diagnosis at a very young age.

Carter Blanchard from Arkansas met 13-year-old Rowdy from Oregon who received his diagnosis in the same year. The pair spent the day together after Carter’s mother saw the dog on Facebook and sent a message to his owners.

Stephanie Adcock, Carter’s mother, said: “He was at a big school with a lot of kids, and his face was transforming very quickly… The first thing he’d tell me when he got in the car is that he hated his face and hated the way he looked.”

We’re so happy to see that there is still good in the world in light of Wednesday’s terrorist attack. Dogs and kids always make the world a better place.
