Celebrity Scales Spark Backlash

Superdrug has sparked online outrage as it has replaced the numbers on a scale dial with various celebrities including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, TOWIE’s Gemma Collins, Rihanna, Kate Middleton, Queen Latifah and Cheryl Cole.

Cheryl Cole hit Twitter yesterday saying ‘Pls do not include me on your scale. Girls should be worried about the number on their exam pages not a weight scale.’The health and beauty retailer thought of the idea when they surveyed different people and found that people avoid the bathroom scales as they are concerned about their weight.

A spokesperson for Superdrug confirmed that the scale is a prototype and the company will not be producing or selling the scales in any of their branches.
