Once again, Newcastle United is one point behind Brighton. Newcastle tied 2-2 in their match against Bristol City on the 25th. Given both of their positions in the league table, this match should have been an easy win for Newcastle. Bristol City are 21st and have lost the majority of their games so far. Even though a draw is always better than a loss, Newcastle really needs to be doing a bit better if they want to overtake Brighton, who seem to be on a winning streak. Newcastle did manage to win 2-0 against Aston Villa on the 20th which was much needed in order to stay close to the number one spot.

You’ve really got to give it to Brighton this season, though. To be able to beat a team that usually plays in the Premier League so consistently is impressive and Newcastle should really start to worry if they haven’t already. Brighton won 3-0 against Reading last week, meaning they could leapfrog straight back over Newcastle to be top.

This Tuesday is the Newcastle v Brighton game and it will hopefully show who the better team is after all.
