James Bay was recently short listed for the Brits Critic Choice Award 2015 alongside George the Poet and trio Years and Years.

The winner of the award was chosen last night by industry experts, with the Hertfordshire born Bay scooping with the coveted award.

The singer has already performed in front of thousands as a support act alongside Tom Odell and John Newman.

The 24 year old, singer song-writer has released three projects so far, Let It Go, The Dark of the Morning and most recent single ‘Hold Back the River ‘which peaked at 18 in the charts.

Bay will receive the award at the ‘Brits are Coming’ nomination show, presented by Ant and Dec, which will take place February 25th 2015 at the London 02 Arena.

Runners up George the Poet and Years and Years also feature on the long list for the BBC’s Sound of 2015, which will be announced in early January.
