Daisy Ridley Teases Star Wars Info

Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley has teased as to when we will learn who Rey’s parents are.

Speaking with Vulture, she was asked if Rey could be related to Obi-Wan Kenobi, to which she replied:

“We will see in a year. Just sit tight on that question.” 

They then asked if she could be related to Rogue One’s protagonist, Jyn Erso. She speculated before answering, saying:

“I mean, I think historically it wouldn’t work, because she is … Darth Vader is there … so she would ultimately be my great-grandma; no, she would be my grandma,” she said, speculating on the subject. “I mean it could happen, especially in a galaxy far, far away.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve speculated over who her parents could be. In April, Ridley confirmed she knows who Rey’s parents are, but cannot reveal the information yet, because of contractual obligations.

Filming has been wrapped on Episode VIII, and Daisy seemed pretty excited to see the spin off coming this December.

“I am just excited to see how it is, because I have heard it is so so different, and its own thing,” she explained. “I have no idea what happens–I know the ending, but I have no idea really what happens in it.”

Rogue One was recently announced to have an earlier release date, coming to theatres on the 15th of December, as told by the Star Wars Twitter.

The spin-off features Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker and Alan Tudyk.
