Despite the overall negative response to Suicide Squad in 2016, most agreed that Harley Quinn, portrayed by Margot Robbie was one of the best things in the movie. There have been rumours flying everywhere about where we’ll see the character next but now we may have some answers.

In an interview with Collider, it was revealed that the movie titled Birds of Prey would be moving forward. Robbie stated it was important for her character to remain as part of the group. She said:

‘I pitched the idea of an R-rated girl gang film including Harley because I was like ‘Harley needs friends. [She] loves interacting with people, so don’t ever make her do a standalone film. She’s got to be with other people it should be a girl gang.’

She has a point there, much of Harley Quinn’s personality is bouncing off other characters in the DC Universe and was at least one of the few saving graces of her 2016 debut.

The Birds of Prey movie will be directed by Cathy Yan and will be the second woman to direct for DC, after Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman.

The film doesn’t even have a release date, but there is also an animated show in the works too.

Swamp Thing is also getting a show too, with a horror slant on it.
