We are all beautiful no matter what the scales say. Who says you need to be a size 6 to be happy? Plus model Tess Holliday, (real name Tess Munster), proves you can love your body at any size. Tess is a 5-foot-5, size 22 model and has become the first ever woman of her size to be signed to a major modelling agency, proving beauty has no boundaries.
Holliday has finally secured a contract with MiLK Model Management after being turned away from hundreds of different model agencies. MiLK, which is a UK based modelling agency, discovered Tess through her popular Instagram account where she has nearly 350,000 followers. The agency noted that she is a very important role model to women and what they stand for. The agency pointed out that she is by far the curviest they’ve had on their books. The 29 year old was told she couldn’t model because she was too short and too curvy. The majority of plus-size models stand 5-foot-8 and are between a size 8 and 16.
Tess has said that signing the contract was “mind-blowing” and “it’s far exceeded anything I could have imagined”. The curvy model started the social media campaign #EffYourBeautyStandards to encourage women to celebrate and love their bodies no matter their shape, weight or size.
