Good on ’em.

Mark Zuckerberg has said the social network needs to have better control over hate speeches against migrants.

He has identified them as a group that need protection during a public ‘town hall’ session in Berlin.

Around 1,000 people were invited to the session, most of whom were students.

Germany, obviously, has a past history with discrimination, which is why there are strict laws around the protection of minorities.

Facebook has become a target for criticism in Germany for failing to police anti-immigration posts.

The German Ministry of Justice has stated that the social network acts quicker to remove imagery of a sexual nature, as opposed to discriminatory posts.

In January it was reported that German authorities were working on a deal with conglomerates such as Google, Twitter and Facebook to ensure the law took priority over company policy.

When asked about Facebook’s position on immigration, Zuckerberg said: “There’s not a place for this kind of content on Facebook. Learning more about German culture and law has led us to change the approach,” he said.

The founder of the social network has also said that he hopes the US will follow Germany’s lead when it comes to immigration, by allowing more refugees into the country.

Yeah.

Of course it will.
