Every year, the Summer Reading Challenge takes place. This involves encouraging young people to read as much as possible, and be rewarded for doing so.

It’s easy. All you need to do is sign up at your local library, during the summer holidays, and then you can begin.

The challenge is to read six books of your choice, collecting rewards along the way that make it even more exciting.

To make things even better, it’s completely free!

If you want to get involved yourself, you can find out more information here.

As well as getting involved with the challenge itself, you can also learn more about your favourite authors and books in the Reading Club (which can be found on the website). This is a particularly appealing section, as it gives you a greater insight into books and ultimately gives you a wider knowledge about reading.

There are also a number of competitions and goodies that you can receive along the way.

So, if you’re under 13 years old (preferably) and you enjoy reading then this will no doubt make your summer even better. Or, if you know someone who would enjoy this, please pass the information on as it will really be worth it!
