Go Fox Yourself

Michelle Obama, in her speech for the DNC, mentioned one thing that no other First Lady ever has.

The White House was built by slaves. And Fox News went mental.

In her speech, she said:

“I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters — two beautiful intelligent black young women — play with the dog on the White House lawn.

And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all of our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States.”

Many First Ladies have slept in the same bed she has, but none has ever commented on the fact the house was built by black slaves.

But guess who tried to crap all over the speech?

Fox News, obviously.

Producer John Gibson said:

“I’ll admit I find the line aggravating… Why am I annoyed? Not because the statement doesn’t have some element of truth. Was the White House was built by slaves? Sort of. Yes.”

The producer was b**ping about the fact Michelle Obama might have omitted that many white immigrants from Scotland and Ireland also worked on the White House. But he might have omitted the fact that those white workers were paid, and had a choice as to whether they wanted to work on it or not.

Then Bill O’Reilly weighed in his big bigoted head, saying:

“Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government, which stopped hiring slave labour in 1802…

I just can’t get rid of that history teacher thing. You know what I’m talking about?”

Even if they were well fed.

They were still slaves. Stating they were treated as a person, then calling them a slave, doesn’t change a damn thing.

We applaud Michelle.

And ask why the heck she didn’t run for President.
