HBO’s President of Programming has said that even the stars won’t know how this journey will end. Multiple endings have been confirmed to stop story leaks for the final episode.

Speaking at a US college, Casey Bloys said:

‘I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens. You have to do that on a long show. When you’re shooting, people know,’

The seventh season of the popular show was plagued with multiple leaks. One from the studio itself, where it aired an episode earlier than expected. Four people were arrested in India following a leak of pirated episodes from an online service in Mumbai. Then, in Europe, another episode was released, copied and distributed online.

Unsurprisingly, the newest season of Game of Thrones was illegally downloaded ‘more than a billion times; according to data seen by Muso, a piracy tracking firm.

The next season will be released in 2018 and will only contain six episodes. Casey said however that:

‘Our production people are trying to figure out a timeline for the shoot and how much time the special effects take.’

It was already sort of confirmed that it would be a long wait until the next season, maybe 2019, however, it is still unclear as to if that’s accurate or not.

Now we’re pondering what the other endings could be.

‘Game of Thrones may have multiple ending for the finale? When that’ll be, nobody knows yet.’ tweet
