Grammy Awards 2014

The 56th annual Grammy Awards took place last night at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles and wee attended by who’s who in the music industry.

Beyoncé and Jay Z opened the Awards with a raunchy rendition of her hit song ‘Drunk in Love’. Bey wore a thong and a black bodysuit as she grinded up against her husband for the duration of the performance, leaving little to the imagination. Jay then went on the win a Grammy with Justin Timberlake for Best Rap Collaboration with ‘Holy Grail’ saying as he collected the coveted award “I wanna tell Blue that Daddy got a gold sippy cup for you.”

However it was Daft Punk’s night last night, claiming four gongs including Record of the Year and Album of the Year, performing ‘Get Lucky’ with the iconic Stevie Wonder. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis also bagged themselves four Grammys, yet the highlight of their night was when 33 couples, straight and gay were married on stage by Queen Latifah. Whatever next?

Taylor Swift took a leaf out of Willow Smiths book and whipped her hair back and forth like there was no tomorrow as she sat at a piano and tried to sing while 17 year old Lorde, won song of the year with ‘Royals’.

Performances of the night also included Kendrick Lamar, Madonna and Sir Paul McCartney while a huge rock curtain call brought the nights festivities to an end. List of winners can be seen here
