As we all know, the next season of Game of Thrones (at least in this timeline) will be the last, but what does Jon Snow think?

Kit Harington, speaking to Time, said that the current series is ‘bigger than it’s ever been’. The star will be on set in Belfast to shoot some scenes. The show has used a few locations in Ireland to film over the past few years.

He went on to say that the plan was to finish filming his scenes in 2018 and when it’s all said and done, the actor said he wasn’t sure how it was going to hit him personally. Most of Kit Harington’s recent career was taken up by the popular series. The show began in 2010, snowballing into one of HBO’s most successful programmes. With the release of Season 7, it was viewed by more than 16.5 million people, not counting those who viewed from *ahem* other sources.

A match made on set – Kit met his current partner, Rose, on set. They played star-crossed love-birds in season 4. Or crows rather.
‘I don’t know how I’m going to feel sometime next year when I’ve finished. It’s quite a sudden shift, I guess, but it feels like the right time.’

The eight and final season of Game of Thrones is expected in either late 2018 or early 2019, due to some filming issues. The weather was blamed for delays on shoots previously. HBO, despite its initial qualms, is now at work on multiple spin-offs.

Harington also commented on how in sync his co-workers were on set.

‘One thing that I’ve noticed is that if people are enjoying what they’re doing and the cast and the crew and the producers are melding in the right way and everyone is getting on in the right way, the right kind of energy is flowing through a group of people, then the product can only benefit from it and can only become better for it.’

It’s been a long road to get to where we are now, and I think we all want to see Jon Snow cut this guy in half.
