The creator of Pokémon Go has revealed they are developing a Harry Potter themed experience that will also include AR features.

Niantic said that players would find and fight fantasy beasts of the Harry Potter world in a smartphone game, which has yet to get a release date. Pokémon Go still had around 45 million daily players at its peak and raked in about $1.2bn (£915m) in sales. It took over the globe more than a year ago, but the popularity quickly died out due to the lack of updates and developer interaction.

Warner Bros Interactive, the worst people in the world, owns the video game rights to the Harry Potter series. It has developed Lego-branded titles in the past with TT Games, as well as partnering with Electronic Arts and creating some awful action adventure games.

The original rumours came out in 2016, that there would be a Harry Potter themed game, but these were dismissed as nothing but that.

Fans will have to wait until next year to learn a bit more.

Hey, Pokémon Go made millions with microtransactions. Warner Bros Interactive will be into that. I’d put my money on it.
