If you’re a fan of Apple, you’ll be pleased to know that the company has just revealed a brand new iPhone design – the ‘iPhone X.’

X standing for ‘exclusive’, Apple is aiming to bring something new and exciting to the market.

But, you’re probably wondering what makes it so special.

Well, unlike the other generations of iPhone, there are no bezels above and below the screen. As well as this, as opposed to a home button it seems that Apple is opting for a much sleeker model, paving the way for the use of facial recognition technology.

In addition to this, other features include:

  • A ‘super retina’, 5.8in (14.7cm) screen, with 458 pixels per inch, the most detailed iPhone display to date.
  • Portrait mode and a relighting tool that can be used on pictures taken by both the front and rear cameras.
  • Two hours more battery life than the iPhone 7.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, it does come at a significant price – £999 for a 64GB, or £1,149 for a 256GB. It’s pricey!

According to Geoff Blaber from the CCS Insight consultancy,

The iPhone X is a long-term investment by Apple that sets a template for the next generation of iPhone hardware.

An OLED [organic light-emitting diode] display and the new design is likely to be standard on future iPhone models, but Apple must first tackle the challenge of obtaining sufficient supplies.

However, if you want to get your hands on Apple’s newest piece of technology you’ll have to wait until November 3. Though, pre-orders do start on October 27. Still a while to go yet!
