Make your mind up, people. For goodness’ sake.

In case you didn’t hear, we recently ran a story that Outlast 2 would be refused release in Australia, due to the nature of the content in the game.

However, after a press release by 18point2, Australia’s Outlast 2 publisher, there has been some light shed upon why it was initially refused. The statement reads:

“The original submission of Outlast 2 sent to the Australian Classification Branch contained the final game code and a video file for reference taken from an Alpha version of the game. This video file should not have been sent along with the game code, as its content was not representative of the final game.

“In the second submission, the same game code was submitted, with a video file reflecting the final game content. The game was then approved for release with an R18+ rating. There will be only one version of Outlast 2 available worldwide. These will be the final comments made on this release.”

The game, being made by the original publisher Red Barrel, will still have an R18+ rating (obviously) due to the graphic content in the game.

The demo was enough to make both me and my partner literally scream in fear.

Outlast 2 will be coming a month from now, and there won’t be any altered versions.
