The Republican debate on Tuesday saw Jeb Bush and Donald Trump lock horns, with Bush labelling his opponent a “chaos candidate” for his “one-liners” and controversial policies.

Bush commented on Trump’s comments on Isis in September, when he said that “Isis was not our fight”. Since then Trump has said he wants to “penetrate the internet” to “find out everything about Isis”. Bush also commented that Trump’s attitude to foreign policy “demonstrated a lack of seriousness”.

Trump defended his allegations by saying America needed a “tough leader”.

Trump: You can go back Jeb. You interrupted me; are you going to apologise, Jeb?

Bush: September 30th, you said it.

Trump: No. Am I allowed to finish?

Bush: A little bit of your own medicine there, Donald?

Trump: I know you’re trying to build up your energy Jeb, but it’s not working very well.

Bush later commented, to loud applause: Donald, you’re not going to be able to insult your way to the Presidency, that’s not going to happen.
