When Zack Snyder left Justice League earlier this year, DC brought on Joss Whedon, who had worked on The Avengers. Soon after this, it was announced he would be working on a Batgirl movie for the studio too. A new rumour has surfaced from Den of Geek that Warner was reconsidering, after the commercial disappointment of Justice League, which made the lowest amount at the box office since the start of this line of movies.

Batgirl, however, is still going forward, according to sources close to Whedon and the project. Whedon is said to be on the project as director and producer. The report notes that there has been no one cast yet in the lead role so far.

When speaking about Batgirl earlier this year, Whedon stated that he wasn’t thinking about casting yet, that he would try to look for lesser known people to play the role, saying ‘this is somewhere where you go and find Batgirl and then you cast her’.

This will be just one of a bunch of DC movies set up for the next few years. We have two Joker movies coming, Aquaman, Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2 and the upcoming Batman movie directed by Matt Reeves.

I haven’t even seen Wonder Woman yet.
