Warner Bros latest release Justice League failed to reach its predicted earnings this weekend after it opened worldwide on Friday. Predictions for the movie were around $110 million but fell short at about $96 million. It still topped charts around the globe, including the US and Canada, but is the first DC movie to not reach over $100 million in its first weekend.

Previous entries in the film have all reached and succeeded the $100 million mark, including Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman. It’s worth mentioning however that since Batman v Superman the haul for DC movies has been on the decline.

The $96 million figure comes from just the US, with a further $185 million being made from international markets, pushing the global total to $281.5 million. The budget for the movie was $300 million.

The reception was mixed, which seems to be the average for DC movies now. Many have called the plot a bit of a mess, with the villain being generic and meh, but the characters bind the movie together and make it generally enjoyable.

Might be worth a watch?
