Kentucky Fried Disaster

KFC has closed over 600 of its outlets as delivery problems meant the stores ran out of chicken. The public is hanging by a thread. We want our chicken.

The website shows that the restaurants were shut as of Tuesday morning after chicken ran out. This compares to the 575 that were closed on Monday at 9 pm. Last week, the chain switched its delivery contract to DHL, which has blamed ‘operational issues’ for the disruption to the chicken supply.

It is unclear how many will remain open after today.

A spokesperson for the fried chicken fast food chain said:

‘We anticipate the number of closures will reduce today and over the coming days as our teams work flat out all hours to clear the backlog.

Each day more deliveries are being made, however, we expect the disruption to some restaurants to continue over the remainder of the week, meaning some will be closed and others operating with a reduced menu or shortened hours.’

They should change that to Really Limited Availability.

It appears that only 254 outlets remain open across the UK, compared to the 325 on Monday of this week. Some of these, however, are only offering very limited items on the menu or have less opening hours. KFC has set up a webpage where you can find your closest open outlet.

Both restaurants in the Metrocentre are closed until further notice.

You can look here to see which finger lickin’ outlets are still open.

Could be worse.

You could be nearly out of clean drinking water.
