As it was only my second gig in my life, I can quite safely say…it was amazing. Everything about it was amazing. The music, the atmosphere, the crowd was all simply astounding. The problem with big gigs today is that we see the act and think they’re probably going to talk about themselves all night but in this case, no. Jared Leto, lead singer, was more than interactive with the mass of people who turned up, and there were many times when he stopped the music completely just to say hi to a crowd member, and even get people up on stage. The song choice could not have been more precise, opening with ‘Night of the Hunter’ and getting the crowd going until the rest of the band left to set up for the next half, and Jared stood on stage, taking requests from the audience. Doing his signature acoustic of ‘Hurricane’ he left the crowd wanting more, and as the night drew to a close, finishing with ‘Up in the Air’ and even the bands cover of ‘Stay’ by Rihanna, which was vocally amazing, everyone in the place was practically bouncing off the walls.

Even as the band was setting up for their next song, they had performers on stage, keeping the audience entertained throughout the entire show. It was an amazing experience, and one that not many will soon forget. The support band ‘You Me At Six’ were also rather good, personally I am not a fan, but I cannot deny they put on a good show, and had a lot of confidence in their vocals, and music. It was a good crowd starter and kept us hungry for the main act. Definitely worth the drive to Manchester, and I would certainly do it again to see them.
