Logan Tops Box Office

Top of the charts, bub.
After a monsoon of positive press, Logan is the most successful solo Wolverine film ever. Following close behind, however, is Get Out, which is also supposed to be incredible.

Logan –$85.3 million
Get Out — $26.1 million
The Shack — $16.1 million
The Lego Batman Movie — $11.65 million
Before I Fall — $4.9 million
John Wick: Chapter 2 — $4.7 million
Hidden Figures — $3.8 million
The Great Wall –$3.5 million
Fifty Shades Darker –$3.485 million
La La Land — $2.975 million
The movie has a 15+ rating, following in the footsteps of Fox’s other R-rated film, Deadpool, which did way better than anyone thought it would. The Hollywood Reporter said that:
“Logan, following upon the success of last year’s daring Deadpool, is another victory for 20th Century Fox in proving that R-rated superhero films can have sharp claws. To boot, it is getting the widest release ever for an R-rated title.”
Logan opened to China this weekend also, and while the numbers haven’t been released yet, it could make as much as $100 million.
Hugh Jackman has now hung up the claws, along with Patrick Stewart, who is retiring from the role of Professor X.
