After roaring success at the box office on its initial release, Disney has given the go-ahead to make a second Jungle Book movie.

Along with this, the studio confirmed that Angelina Jolie would reprise her role as Maleficent in a sequel. Plus a Mary Poppins reboot is on its way starring Emily Blunt, as well as a 101 Dalmatians spin off, Cruella.

Mary Poppins will also feature Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote and performed in the Broadway hit, Hamilton.

Presumably they’ll spin Cruella like they did Maleficent.

The studio also confirmed writers for the projects, including Kelly Marcel, who wrote screenplays for Fifty Shades of Grey (oh dear) and Saving Mr Banks (okay, so that was pretty good). Kelly will apparently be penning the Cruella film.

While they haven’t confirmed any release dates specifically, the studio has announced releases scheduled for July 2017, April 2018 and December 2019. Another two untitled films are to be put out in March and December of 2018.

The newest iteration of Rudyard Kipling’s story received glowing reviews at box office, and made over $160m in its first two weeks.
