US film star Morgan Freeman is the latest to be accused of sexual misconduct, by eight women and several other people in Hollywood. One assistant accused Freeman of harassing her for months during the filming of Going in Style, CNN reports.

She said that the now 80-year-old man repeatedly tried to lift her skirt, asking if she was wearing underwear.

Freeman apologised to ‘anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected’.

‘Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy.’

It was ‘never [his] intent’ to make women uncomfortable.

He is the latest in a long line of high profile names to be accused of misconduct in Hollywood. In the last six months, there have been dozens of allegations levied at all manner of comedians, actors and producers, leading to the creation of the #MeToo campaign.

The production assistant was among eight women to tell CNN they had been victims of harassment.  Meanwhile, on the set of Now You See Me, staff knew ‘not to wear any top that would show breasts or anything that would show our bottoms’.

Morgan would have been known to stare at women’s breasts and asked them to twirl for him.

On the flip-side of this, however, CNN said it had spoken to a number of people who had worked with or for Morgan Freeman. Some even praised him and stated he was always professional.

Doesn’t sound professional, does it?
