Movie Release Dates Revealed

Release dates for a couple of Hollywood’s biggest films have been revealed! However, some of them are a long way off.

These dates were revealed by Entertainment Weekly, and include Avatar 2-5, Deadpool 2 (June 2018), and Dark Phoenix (November 2018).

Dark Phoenix is the story arc in which Jean Grey loses control of her powers, becoming consumed by a dark force. Let’s just hope it doesn’t become another flop like Apocalypse was.

The next four sequels to Avatar have finally been unveiled by way of their official Facebook. The movie has been in pre-production for a good few years, and full production is finally underway for the next few films. 18th December 2020 will be the premiere of the first sequel, with the others following in 2021, 2024, and the last one in 2025.

The Deadpool 2 teaser was shown at the beginning of the movie Logan, and showed our favourite sweary anti-hero suiting up once more.

They’re a long way off, but lest we forget, the original Avatar was in production since the early 90s.

When asked why the movies would be taking so long, director James Cameron said that he will be making all the movies at the same time, in what he called “an epic undertaking”. A lot of franchises have done the same thing with their movies – the Pirates movies way back when were produced back to back. Let’s just hope the next eight years of work are worth it.
