Wow, there are actually movies coming out this month. Tomb Raider, Pacific Rim, Red Sparrow and Ready Player One all release this month. Let’s have a look at some trailers.
Tomb Raider will be in cinemas on 16th March. It will follow the recent game’s storyline, with a grittier, bloodier Lara Croft. Might break the video-game movie mould. Have a look at the trailer.
John Boyega stars in this next one, which means it’s either Star Wars or Pacific Rim. It’s Pacific Rim: Uprising, we have another year and a bit for Star Wars. Yes, the giant metal robots are back fighting even bigger Godzilla esc monsters. It’ll be awesome no matter what. Expect it on 23rd March.
Our next one is already open to the public. Jennifer Lawrence stars in Red Sparrow, where she plays a seductive spy. It’s apparently quite gory, so if you’re squeamish, maybe give this one a miss.
Next up we’re looking at a movie from out of nowhere. A Wrinkle in Time stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Storm Reid and Chris Pine, as a young girl called Meg tries to find her father through another world. Might be good for the kids. Should be released next week on the 9th March.
Lastly, we have Ready Player One which looks cool but could just end up being another cringey look at how teenagers talk and play games. Set in the far future where the only happiness can be gained through VR-esque simulations playing games. We’ll see.
