Oh my god. Remy Ma does not hold back at all in her new diss track ‘ShETHER’. You don’t even have to listen to the song to realise that Nicki is going to get a roasting from hell – the cover art says it all.

It doesn’t get much clearer than this…

This artwork sets the tone for the entire track. Remy doesn’t just diss her once or twice, but for the entire six minutes of the song and let me tell you, it is absolutely brutal. You can’t help but feel embarrassed for Nicki during the whole thing and every line has you gasping in total disbelief that some rapper actually has the nerve to say such savage things about her.

The song kicks off with Nicki Minaj shouting “Free Remy” which was a sort of bandwagon a few years ago when Remy was in trouble. As Remy goes on to say, as soon as she was ‘freed’, Nicki was nowhere to be seen with her support.

Remy raps about Nicki’s use of ghostwriters, her sexual relations with other rappers and how she is an ‘opportunist’. The digs are so personal and include titles of her songs and collaborations just so there is no mistaking that Nicki is the target of this track.

The most savage part has to be this:

“And I got a few words for the moms of the young Barbz
Guess who supports a child molester? Nicki Minaj
You paid for your brother’s wedding? That’s hella foul
How you spending money to support a paedophile?”

Here she basically accuses Nicki of one of the worst crimes that exists while simultaneously dragging her fans into it.

In this next part, she defends the people that Nicki tried to “start beef with” and calls her out for picking on easy targets.

“How are you on the VMAs acting like you hood?
Way across the stage, talking ’bout “Miley, what’s good?”
That’s Hannah Montana, she was always happy
You only fronted on Mariah ’cause Mariah don’t carry
Tried to disrespect Taylor ’cause Taylor wasn’t Swift enough
Pillsbury Doughgirl, Remy pick the biscuit up
I’m jealous? B*tch, you was happy when they took me
Best thing that ever happened to you was when they booked me”

If Nicki thought Remy Ma was harmless, she needs to think again. This track could be career-changing and the worst part is for Nicki, she will never be able to retaliate with something more savage than this. Worse yet, Remy has sort of defended Taylor, Miley and Mariah, meaning she could make an ally out of them all. One thing is for sure, Remy Ma has no filter whatsoever and she also has nothing to lose. Nicki will probably just have to be the bigger person and ignore Remy. After all, why give her the attention and publicity that would come with a returned diss track.

This will shake up the hip hop industry and now all we can do is wait to see what Nicki will do.
