Doctors have warned of serious eye injury if you get hit in the eye with a Nerf dart, London eye hospital have said.  This comes as they recently treated three people with internal bleeding around the eye after they were shot in the face with Nerf guns.

Hasbro does warn to not aim the guns at the face or eyes. Trust me, as someone who has been hit multiple times in the face with them, wear the protective eye gear.

The toys are made for children (and young adults) aged eight and over. The company also sells a range of different dart types, but there are cheaper off-brand versions found in various stores and online. The darts sold by other companies are apparently harder than their Hasbro counterparts, which can potentially cause more damage.

The three patients who were seen by the doctors have made full recoveries, however, doctors have urged that when playing with these toys that children use the protective eyewear that comes with them, or invest in some form of protective eyewear.

Those things hurt.
