Scared of flying? Well, it’s time to stop worrying. A new app has just launched that can banish your fears within seconds.

Available on iOS, Sky Guru talks nervous flyers through their journey by making them feel as though they are sitting next to a pilot.

The app explains to passengers exactly what is happening during their flight in real time, from unexpected noises to when turbulence might occur. All you have to do is switch your phone to flight mode, and it will begin to track your flight.

Created by Alex Gervash, both a pilot and psychologist, you’re in safe hands. As the director of Flying without Fear, a centre for treatment of aerophobia, this app has been created to truly eliminate your flying fears once and for all.

Commenting on his invention, Gervash commented:

“Having over eight years of experience with fear of flying treatment, I’ve recognised the value of real-time assistance… People need support during turbulence or with understanding a strange sound.”

So, how does it work? Well, it uses your phone’s built-in sensors (eg. Microphone, compass, and so on) to help explain why the plane has just dipped, and every other possible concern you could have.

Likewise, it also answers questions about flying in general, such as why window blinds must be open or why the lights are dimmed on a late-night flight. Before you fly, the app even advises passengers about possible delays, or which seats may be preferable on the plane.

If you’re a nervous flyer, this could be the perfect solution. However, it is slightly pricey at £14.99, and is only available on iOS. If you don’t want to fork out this much yet, you can download a basic version of the app for free before you make a decision.
