According to The Hollywood Reporter, late night TV host John Oliver will play the role of Zazu, the strict king’s adviser, in the new Lion King. He was originally voiced by Rowan Atkinson in the original film, which was released in 1994.

John Oliver has done voice work before, in The Smurfs, the sequel (ew) and Rick and Morty, in one episode.

This is the latest big announcement from the movie, with other voice actors already being slated for the film. Donald Glover will voice Simba, James Earl Jones will voice Mufasa, having also done the original voice for Mufasa in the 1994 film. Seth Rogan will play the part of Pumbaa, with Billy Eichner lending his voice to Timon.

There were inkling rumours that Beyoncé would voice Nala, however, these have not been confirmed yet. This could be due to the fact she was pregnant with two babies and all that. Kind of puts everything else on hold, does pregnancy. So, it is still unconfirmed if she will be in the movie or not.

The film will be directed by Jon Favreau, who directed Iron Man and Disney’s surprisingly good retelling of The Jungle Book. It has some big shoes to fill, considering that the original movie made $968 million at the box office, and won numerous awards, including two Grammys for the soundtrack.

Which, to this day, will get Disney fans turnt up.
