Newcastle City Centre Transformation

NE1 will soon be launching The Geordie Jackpot, a lottery used to fund city centre improvements. Not only will these improvements benefit the community in a practical sense, but they will also give the city a well-needed facelift – what more could you ask for?

Though no definite proposals have been put in place, some of the most popular ideas include a friendly pop-up park at Grey’s monument, a large lettered sign spelling out the word ‘Newcastle,’ and a feature water fountain in the city centre.

Half of the money raised will go towards funding new projects across the city centre, and the other half will go to local children’s charity Cash For Kids.

If you want to get involved, all you have to do is purchase a lottery ticket. Launching on October 7, the £1 tickets will give locals a chance at a guaranteed jackpot of £1,000 each week, or potentially even £25,000 if players match all 6 numbers in the correct order.

Sean Bullick, chief executive of NE1, commented on the project, “We have a fantastic city, we are up there with the best in Europe but think how great we can become if everyone gets behind the Geordie Jackpot and supports the city.”

As well as this, Catherine Jowett, brand marketing manager at DFDS said, “The Geordie Jackpot is such a great way to show your support for Newcastle and we are thrilled to support the first draw with the Amsterdam mini cruise prize.”

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, you can purchase your tickets here.
