Newcastle For Sale

Once again.
Mike Ashley is selling Newcastle United and people are overwhelmed with joy it would seem. Since Ashley’s reign began ten-years ago, the team has been relegated twice from the Premier League. The club said in a statement:
‘Newcastle United requires a clear direction and a path to a bright and successful future’
The owner has been a decisive figure in St James’ Park, since taking over in 2007, with a number of supporters regularly speaking out against how he runs the club. Financier Amanda Staveley, 44, is a potential suitor, according to BBC radio 5 senior reporter Ian Dennis. She was seen watching the home draw against Liverpool earlier this month.
Ashley bought Newcastle United for 134.4 million in 2007. Accounts up to June 2016 showed a profit of £900,000 and a turnover of £126 million in 2015-1016.
People are pretty happy about this, even Alan Shearer:
