If you love great food, you’ll no doubt have the dates in your diary all year-round for Newcastle’s Restaurant Week. Unfortunately, the first event of 2017 is already over, but it’s definitely worth looking back on.

Inspired by New York’s culture, in which twice a year foodies are encouraged to dine at some of the best restaurants in the city for a discounted price, the NE1 Restaurant Week was first launched back in 2011.

This year, not only were there more restaurants participating than ever before, but the event also engaged with 10,000 more visitors than in previous years.

With the opportunity to dine in some of Newcastle’s finest restaurants at a quarter of the normal price, it’s no surprise that it’s gone down a hit. From Las Iguanas to Marco Pierre White, there was certainly something to fit everyone’s taste. We’re getting hungry just thinking about it.

Did you attend? If so, where was your favourite place to dine?
