This year, Halloween is set to be a good one. There are so many exciting events all over the North East, and something for all of the family. So, if you want a fun-filled Halloween, keep reading.

  • Evening events at Beamish Museum
    • We LOVE Beamish, so much so that we’ve dedicated an individual post to this event right here. Dress up in your favourite costume, and set about exploring the spooky sights of Beamish at night.

  • Brocksbushes
    • This year, Brocksbushes Farm is spoiling you, with two different events. For those who want an extra spooky evening, Mine Shaft Thirteen could be ideal for you…
      • “Earlier this year, we stumbled across an old, abandoned mine shaft on these very grounds, more specifically at the location of our Halloween maze. This is strange in itself but there have been more, even stranger events occurred since. After some digging, we discovered the name of the shaft via an old, rickety sign…Mine Shaft 13.

We tried to find out about the mine using the internet, scouring old newspapers and asking locals, but there was nothing to be found. It was almost as if the mine never existed, or, that any stories were soon covered up. Workers on the farm started to feel uneasy around the maze, telling is that they wouldn’t go near it alone. Some felt faint or physically ill. One even went to work in the maze, left work early feeling unwell and has still not returned.

Things only got worse over time and one worker claims to have heard these words repeated “We are the Thirteen! Leave now! Leave now!”

      • Or, if you’re looking for a family day out, why not try The Great Pumpkin Robbery? This is aimed at the younger generation, searching through a maze to save Halloween. You’ll even receive a free pumpkin to take home with you – we told you they were spoiling you! Find out more here
  • Linskill Chase
    • If you’re really looking to be spooked this Halloween, a live event is definitely a good choice, and the Linskill Chase seems pretty scary! As you ramble through a maze of corridors and terrifying rooms, you’ll not be alone. The zombies have come back from the dead. And, to make things even better, it only costs £7.50! You can buy tickets here.

  • Boulevard
    • This one is definitely for the adults out there – a spectacular cabaret performance, with the added element of a Halloween treat. Get yourself down there, and grab a ticket before it’s too late!

Those are just a few of the fabulous events taking place across the region this Halloween, but they’re definitely the ones we’re most excited for! What about you?
