The North East of England has a lot to be proud of: landmarks, party cultures and of course, its universities. Here’s our run down of some unis in the area, but first, here are some general things you need to know about studying in the North East:

1- No true Northerner will turn down a night out, so you’ll always have someone to go partying with.

2- Rain.

3- Geordie is basically as much of a different language as French is.

Without further ado, here’s a look at some of our best universities:

Newcastle – Newcastle Uni is not only a Russell Group, it also has won many awards in various different fields for its level of excellence. Not only that, the city of Newcastle is considered the party capital of England.

Northumbria – With one of the best business schools in England, Northumbria would be ideal for any aspiring entrepreneur or CEO. It is situated right by Newcastle town centre, meaning quick access to the best night clubs around.

Durham – Often close behind Oxford and Cambridge in the league tables, Durham Uni is often overlooked for what it is- a fantastic university for the brightest minds in the UK. Within Durham, there’s a quiet, village feel – until the students take the streets.

Sunderland – While it’s not a Russell group university, Sunderland definitely will provide you with a great education. Particularly for those hoping to do sport, there’s something for everyone at Sunderland.
