The free additional content for Resident Evil 7, which will star a returning hero from the franchise, has been delayed until a later, unconfirmed date.

Resident Evil 7 was released in January, to overwhelmingly positive reviews and was (surprisingly) an incredibly well-designed and well-executed game. Since its release it has had two DLC packs, Banned Footage Vol 1-2 which contained a few story-related modes, and some rather… ridiculous ones.

Not a Hero was scheduled for last month, however, in the recent developer diary, the director of RE7 Koushi Nakanishi, producer and executive producer Masachika Kawata and Jun Takeuchi, explain that it’s not quite ready yet.

Honestly?

The fact that they saw the reception the game got, then went back to make the free DLC better, is actually pretty great, delayed or not. It shows real integrity if a developer decides to dedicate time to bettering its secondary content. For Capcom especially, this is a pretty big deal, given that many fans have been displeased with how they have handled certain IPs and DLCs.

So yeah, watch the full video below.
