Star Wars is incredibly popular. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will at least know the iconic line ‘I am your father’. The Force Awakens made $247 million on its opening weekend, putting it as one of the most successful movies of all time. It was the first Star Wars release in years, which aided its success.

But now, Box Office Pro has published its projections for The Last Jedi, saying that the movie would make $215 million in the US alone. That’s a massive amount of money by any standards. The hype behind this movie is immense. It has been two years since The Force Awakens, with one movie in between, so it’s fair to say we’re all clamouring to see it.

Box Office Pro predicted the movie would end its US run at around $760 million, which is about $200 million lower than The Force Awakens’ $936.6 million.

It is predicted that The Last Jedi will benefit from the ‘family component’ of the movie, with new characters that could appeal to a bunch of people, with older characters like Luke Skywalker drawing attention from older generations.

The story will continue the adventures of Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

It looks dope.
