Zayn Malik has signed a solo record deal with RCA records after walking away from One Direction in March claiming he wanted to be a normal 22 year old but it wasn’t long after when he baffled fans by starting a solo career. He tweeted a photo of himself signing paper that seemed to be a contract and further explained why he left the band.
He said, “I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA”
Miley Cyrus, Pitbull, Alicia Keys and the Foo Fighters are amongst the acts that are signed to the label.
Simon Cowell congratulated his former signee on his new contract on twitter, tweeting, “I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik’s solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special.”
It’s been no secret that Zayn been recently working with an English DJ, record producer and musician Naughty Boy to release a cover of Rae Sremmurd’s ‘No Type.’ The producer recently leaked screenshots of the music video after fans presumed the collaboration was corrupt.
Frank Ocean’s producer Malay recently announced he had also been working with the former One Direction member.
