Phillip Seymour Hoffman was an amazing actor who stared in films such as: Mission Impossible, Along Came Polly, Moneyball and his latest starring role was in  The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The 46-year-old star was found dead in his home in New York after a friend called the emergency services. It is suspected that his death was due to a drug overdose.

He was last seen filming for the upcoming sequels The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. In this franchise, Hoffman stars as head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. The YA saga, staring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson has been recently filming in Atlanta with both Mockingjay part 1 and part 2 being shot back-to-back.

Apparently Hoffman had completed all of his work for Mockingjay – Part 1 but still had several days of filming to complete Mockingjay – Part 2. I guess that Francis Lewis, the director of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay will have to figure out some way to delete his character from all remaining scenes.

Overall, the tragic death of this world-class actor has been a shock to many. He will be greatly missed from the future of filmography.
