Pikachu Movie Lead Confirmed

The upcoming live-action Pokémon movie, Detective Pikachu has its first confirmed cast member. It was reported by Variety that Justice Smith will star in the movie. Smith was in the Netflix drama The Get Down which was cancelled after just one season, unfortunately. He has also been picked up for a role in the next Jurassic Park movie.

Detective Pikachu has no release date yet, but will reportedly be based on the video-game Great Detective Pikachu in which the character appears as a master detective. Basically, Sherlock but a Pokémon. Unlike other Pokémon games, this time the famous pocket monster can talk. Some big names were going to be behind the role, including Hugh Jackman, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson.

That would be surreal.

Might be good when we eventually get to see it.
